Robert was at the Cannes Film Festival this past weekend with the premier of his latest movie Cosmopolis.  A stream of internet reports hit the airs stating that Robert Pattinson would be filling the role of Finnick in the next Hunger Games movie.  Pattinson was curious, so he called his agent which basically stated it’s just a rumor and not going to happen.

The Hunger Games was first published on September 14, 2008.  It’s a story of a post-apocalyptic world in the country of Panem, where once the countries of North America once existed.  The Hunger Games is an annual event held in Panem where by lottery selection one boy and one girl aged 12 to 18 from each of the 12 districts surrounding the capital of Panem compete in a televised battle until one person is left.

The book really took off and an film version was soon created with it’s first installment in March 2012 with a budget of $78 million.  To this date the first film has generated over $395 million in revenue.  A sequel is planned for release in November next year.

The role of Finnick in the Hunger Games is very coveted.  Finnick will play a major character in the last 2 installments of the trilogy and with the first films huge success, competition for that role is sure to be fierce.
